At the Committee of Supply Debate 2019 on 7 March 2019, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Masagos Zulkifli spoke about the newly formed Singapore Food Agency's (SFA) target of achieving 30 per cent of Singapore's nutritional needs by 2030: "30 by 30".
He added that SFA will also support the growing interest in urban farming, and is working with other Government agencies to pilot this concept. Beyond vegetable farming, SFA's "Grow Local" plan also extends to productive and sustainable fish farming - where its vision is to develop Singapore into a tropical aquaculture hub.
